So I’m going be talking about something a little different today – Toys! I had the opportunity to team up with some AMAZING brands such as LEGO, Discovery Kids & Hasbro to bring you my top picks & the most wanted toys of the year! Are you ready to have some fun!?
Lego is a HUGE deal in my house. I’m not quite sure who loves it more, my son or my husband, but I love how it brings them together to form a special bond. There are a ton of LEGO sets to choose from and it can be quite overwhelming, but the folks at LEGO sent over their must haves this year and I have to say – I think Rylan is going to be SO ecstatic!
Obviously The Lego Movie was an incredible hit and the sets they are putting out just keep getting better & better! (I saw some sneak peeks of the January releases and they are SO awesome!)
Who doesn’t love Spiderman?! We have a few of the Marvel Sets and Ry loves playing with them non stop! I have a feeling he is going to really enjoy putting this one together!
If you aren’t into spending half the day building a Lego set, they also have smaller options available as well. These would be great stocking stuffers!
Discovery Kids / Animal Planet
I seriously can’t wait for Rylan to open these! Basically the concept of these is you place the egg in water and each day you come back to see if your “pet” has grown. After about 2-3 days, the eggs will begin to crack and reveal the toy inside. They come in all different varieties – Including Christmas themed! These will make a fantastic stocking stuffer!
Camping lovers unite! How adorable is this indoor / outdoor starlight lantern? It projects a glowing star field onto walls & ceilings. A few months back Ry & I had a slumber party in the living room (tent & all!) and it was so much fun! This is going to come in handy for the next one.
Hasbro
It wouldn’t be a gift guide without including something ‘Frozen’ related! I used to play this game as a kid and I think it’s SO adorable that they made an Olaf version. Pop the bubble to save Olaf!
When I was younger, my Littlest Pet Shop characters were not fancy like they are today! Your little girl is going to flip over this style set. It includes more than 135 pieces and exclusive pets!
I LOVE that they revamped the easy bake oven for their 50th Anniversary and gave it a chic black & silver look. (Can an easy bake oven look chic? Sure – Why not!) Ry always loves helping me cook in the kitchen, so I really think he’s going to enjoy this. It brings me back to my younger days – Ahh baking cookies with a lightbulb. The oven now uses a fancy heating element.
Look how fancy Mr Potato Head is now! He’s ready to save the universe! Super heroes + Mr. Potato Head is going to be a win in any toddler boys book this year! Another perfect stocking stuffer.
How adorable are these dolls to coincide with My Little Pony? I have total envy right now! My Little Pony was my FAVORITE growing up – I always wanted to collect them all! Move over Barbie – You have some competition!
TMNT Half Shell Heroes
If your little one is a TMNT fan, these are perfect! They are the perfect size for little hands (And don’t look as scary as the regular figures) They have a wide variety of good & bad guys, plus the turtles of course!
Cowabunga dude! Your turtles obviously need something to drive so they can get pizza! With over 20 turtle phrases & sound effects, this is one awesome ride.
Imaginext
Imaginext is one of those toys that I don’t mind buying a lot of. Rylan gets to use his imagination and loves making his favorite Superheroes come to life. It’s so fun to watch him make up scenarios and stories.
This is the ULTIMATE transportation for all of your Imaginext Justice League friends! This is Rylan’s number one pick and I can’t wait to see his face when he opens it up!
Toys R Us
It wouldn’t be Christmas without going to Toys R Us! I know it’s Rylan’s absolute favorite place (Obviously) so he was thrilled to receive a generous box from them! We already dove into most of these products before Christmas so we could test them out for you guys!
The sand has a REALLY cool texture and feel to it. It’s easy to shape and squeezable if that makes any sense. It claims to never dry out so we will see if that lives up to what it says! I am currently storing it in a plastic zip lock bag and so far so good! You can snag it in all different colors on the Toys R Us site HERE
Paw Patrol
Ry received the Paw Patrol Lookout set, which is probably one of the most sought after gifts for a toddler / preschool this year. Paw Patrol is HUGE in our house as we own all of the pups and their vehicles. So of course I had to let him set up the lookout set when it came in!
The only issue I have with this set is it’s very poorly constructed. The grey slide falls off constantly and isn’t very easy to reattach. We have learned to use the play set without it, but hopefully in the future they can reconstruct it and have it stay on for good. You can purchase the lookout set at Toys R Us for $44.99
I think that about wraps up some of my top picks & recommendations this year! I hope you enjoyed and maybe took a stroll down memory lane with some of the items as well! A huge thank you goes out to all of the brands who worked with me on this post!
What are you getting your children for Christmas? Do they have anything on their list that is impossible to find right now!?
*Items marked with a ‘*’ were sent by PR. Others purchased by me. Toys that Rylan will NOT be using / gifted will be dropped off to a local Toys 4 Tots. All opinions are my own & post contains affiliate links*
