When I was preparing dinner tonight, he looked at my husband and said ‘What’s that dada?’ and Chris explained to him that it was big fish – Kind of like chicken nuggets! When in reality, it was really Gorton’s Crispy Battered Fillets.
So he sat Rylan on the counter and very carefully helped Chris take them out of the bag one by one and place them on the baking sheet. When I asked him if he was going to eat them tonight, to my surprise said ‘Yeah!!’ So I went with it and continued to make the rest of dinner. After the 30 minutes were up, I placed a few pieces on his favorite Planes plate and placed it on the kitchen table. Expecting to hear a toddler squeel of NO and pushing it away, he sat there and watched me cut it up and began to blow on them.
He took one bite, rubbed his belly and said ‘This is GOOD Mama!’. I looked at Chris with a shocked face and just went with it! Never in my life would I have thought he would be so excited to eat fish.
Look at that bite!
All in all, this was a completely successful dinner and I have Gorton’s to thank for that!
Definitely the face of a happy little boy!
