Hey everyone! Today I’m bringing you my absolute favorite products for January! These are products I used pretty consistently throughout the month. Nail polish, beauty, & non beauty! Let’s get started!
The absolute first thing I have to mention is my Sally Hansen Quick Care Clean up for Manicures
This is my second one (hense why it’s still in packaging) It has been a lifesaver! You can find these at your local drugstore. CVS had them for 75% off last month, but I’m unsure if that deal is still valid.
Nail Aid Ultra Fast Growth – My nails got pretty bad in the middle of January.. I had snagged them & then cut them down WAY too short. I had received this in the mail to try out and it WORKS! Within a week my nails were strong & healthy and were finally growing. You can find this at your local Walmart or nailaidcares.com. This retails for $6.00
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat – This seems to be one of the most talked about top coats. I have always been an avid user of Essie’s Good to Go.. so I figured why not try something new? Seche Vite is probably one of the best top coats I have ever used! Dries quick to the touch and prevents chipping for more than a week. You can find this product at your local drugstore or beauty supply store. I believe it’s about $8.00.
Zoya ~ Trixie – I snagged this color during Zoya’s January promo where you could get 2 polishes free & just pay shipping. I am SO glad I picked this color up. It’s a gorgeous silver metallic color. I did a review on it back in January, so be sure to check that out if you’d like to see swatches! Zoya retails for $8 a bottle and can be found at Zoya.com & Ulta.
China Glaze – Frostbite – Frostbite is probably one of the most perfect blue nail polishes I have come across in awhile. If you’re looking for a true cobalt blue color with shimmer, look no more. Frostbite is the perfect color for you! I picked this up on ebay, but I’m sure you can find it at Sally’s or Ulta. China Glaze retails for $5.99.
CoverGirl NatureLuxe Foundation – I have been using this foundation on & off. I always tend to try different brands, but in the end ALWAYS come back to this. It makes your face feel light and clean and it also has SPF 10! A little bit goes a LONG way. This is in the color 350 – Oak.
Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer – This is the Glow & Mood boosting powder. Let’s face it.. we all get the winter blues. If you just sweep some of this on your cheeks, your face will get a beautiful glow. The packaging on this is way too adorable. It comes with a mini pink brush & a mirror and is so easy to throw in your purse to reapply during the day. It does have a slight lavender scent to it.. nothing too overpowering though! This powder can be found at your local drugstore and ranges between $9 & $12.
Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Blush – This is just like the bronzer, except in blush form! Same cute packaging, same lavender scent. This blush provides a soft iridescence to highlight, contour and add radiance to cheeks. This is in the color ‘Rose’.. You can see by the swatch, it goes on pretty light.. It’s absolutely perfect for my skin tone. You can find this at your local drugstore and retails for about $9.00
Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara – I’m a sucker for mascara’s. When I saw this one at my local Walmart last month, I KNEW I had to snag it. It lengthens and separates my lashes nicely. No clumps & no flakes. You can find this at your local drugstore for $6.99.
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze – If you’re looking for an affordable equivalent to a MAC paint pot, this is it. They pretty much have almost the same packaging and formula. The one I’ve been using constantly is Bad To The Bronze. They come in 10 different colors. They’re great by themselves & great as a base! I can’t say whether or not they last for 24 hours, but I had worn this for the entire day and had no issues with creasing. HIGHLY recommend. You can find these at your local drugstore for $7.00.
Elf Eyeshadow Quad Day To Night – This quad comes with 4 really pretty shadows that are perfect for everyday. You can tell by my swatches, these are EXTREMELY pigmented. I was SO impressed when I used this. The best part? This quad was $1.00 at Target. That wasn’t even a sale price.. that is the ACTUAL price. Crazy right? So, run to your Target & grab this quad for a buck!
Maybelline Baby Lips in Peppermint – I own all six of the Baby Lips products and this one by far is my favorite. It’s great to throw in your purse and repply all throughout the day. I also sometimes wore it under a lipstick for extra moisture and shine. Baby Lips can be found at your local drugstore and retail for $2.99 each.
Loreal Colour Riche Balm in Pink Satin So Loreal came out with these new lip balms that are kind of like the Revlon Lip Butters. I picked up a few to try and then instantly fell in love and bought them all. The one I have been LOVING is Pink Satin. I tried SO hard to swatch this for you guys, but the color is such a sheer pink it wouldn’t show up on camera at all. So that should kind of give you an idea of just how sheer it is. It’s just something nice to throw on if you’re out running errands. This also has SPF15! You can pick these up at your local drugstore for around $6.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss in Papaya – Papaya is a gorgeous coral gloss. You can see by the swatch, it has just the right tint of color & shimmer. Perfect for those drab winter days! I love how sleek looking the packaging on these is. You can pick this color up & MANY more at your local drugstore for $6-$7.
And now.. some NON beauty favorites that I thought would be fun to throw in here!
Bath & Body Works Frosted Cupcake Scented Oil – You guys heard me mention this on facebook last month.. this stuff smells INSANE. A couple drops goes a long way in my scentbug.. it fills my house with an aroma of pure bakery goodness. I picked this up on clearance for $1.00 during their semi-annual sale. I’m not sure if it’s still available..
Tiny Tower App for iPhone – I know. Call me a nerd if you wish.. but my husband & I have been obsessed with this game. Tiny Tower lets you build a tiny tower and manage the businesses and bitizens that inhabit it! #nerdalert
The Big Bang Theory – I could watch these episodes over & over again and never get sick of them. If you haven’t checked out this show yet, I definitely recommend it!
Raisinets – Enough Said.
And that’s it! Those are my January favorites! What were some of your favorites last month? Leave a comment below & let me know! Don’t forget to like us on facebook! facebook.com/loveforlacquer or scroll up & click the like button! π

Love it! I am definitely picking up Seche Vite and Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer! I love bronzers, and i used to use the Physicians Formula one with the balls (i forget the name, its been a while) but i havent used it since i had my girls! I need a new one:) Does it matter the color of your skin? Do they have different ones for skin colors? Oh, and I saw the Baby Lips at CVS the other day and was tempted to buy it but wasnt sure if it was just another plain old lip balm. I’ll definitely be trying it! Thanks again, Jess! Keep up the good work!

Nice list! While I will pass on pretty much all of the make-up, my absolute positively favorite find was the Seche Vite dry fast topcoat. I got it off of ebay for only $4.98. I’ve also been able to find several other nail polishes and such on ebay for reasonable prices, so much so my husband looked at me the other day asking what is up with all the nail polish. *snicker* Also, kudos on the Raisinets… going to have to get some soon. *drool* π

I love your blog you keep it real, there is plenty of s stuff for the nail lovers, the makeup girls (sadly missing that gene alone with the shoe gene). I absolutely love The Big Bang Theory from the start and have all the seasons and watch them over and over. Definite nerd but hey I loved them before everyone else did so that makes us both really nerds. You even include food. An absolute must although I cannot eat raisinettes they are poor tortured grapes covered in chocolate lol yes I know I have issues I like my chocolate without tortured creatures. Did I mention I love your blog

I will third the need for the Sally Hansen Quick Care Clean Up for Manicures pen. I typically use my other hand to try to clean up any oopses, and that doesn’t always go so well. Definitely need a tiny pen to erase any polish outside the lines. And I wanted to try the L’Oreal Colour Riche balm because I have a coupon for it *and* I like the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter. I have the Lip Butter in Sugar Frosting and keep it in my purse all the time. Lip color disappears really quickly on me, so I find that just having a balm with light color works best. I want to get the Peach Parfait and Creme Brulee, too. Now I might have to go pick up some of the L’Oreal equivalent too. I love sheer lip colors that mostly provide moisture instead of color.

Oh my gosh, I’m such a huge fan of Big Bang Theory! I love that TBS has it on Tues, Wed, Thurs and Saturdays. I pop a bag of popcorn, grab my blankets, fluff the pillows and call my sons into my room for a mini-marathon when it’s on. You ROCK, Jess! Thanks for such an awesome blog!
