Hey everyone! Today I am SO excited to show you swatches from Essie’s latest spring 2012 collection.
“Never one to rest on her formidable charms alone, this self-made woman knows what she wants and exactly how to get it. She’s in the driver’s seat navigating her way through life with daring, wit, and fashion aplomb” ~ Essie Weingarten
navigate her – new growth green
a crewed interest – pretty pursuable peach
to buy or not to buy – limitless lilac shimmer
tour de finance – incandescent fuchsia futures
ole caliente – spicy scarlet fever
orange, it’s obvious – headstrong outspoken orange
Let’s get into the swatches!
Navigate Her
SUCH a gorgeous green color! This was the one I was most excited about. I’m a huge fan of light greens for the spring. This was 2 coats & Essie’s Good To Go. Went on smooth.. definitely no issues here!
A Crewed Interest
Gorgeous peach color.. horrible application. I had the worst time trying to apply this. I kept getting streaks & bald spots. I believe this was 3 coats & a top coat. VERY pretty color.. I just had such difficulty applying.
To Buy Or Not To Buy
I picked up this bottle and said ‘Oh! Look at that gorgeous shimmer!’ .. Then I put it on my nails & it wasn’t there π It is very VERY faint. While taking pictures in the sunlight, you can KIND of see it. I do enjoy the color though.. No issues applying!
Tour De Finance
My 2nd favorite from this collection! I can honestly say I have *nothing* like this in my polish stash. Such a beautiful hot pink fuchsia. There’s a definite incandescent shimmer that transforms from the bottle to the nail. BRAVO Essie!
Ole Caliente
I don’t know why, but this color makes me want to eat salsa & chips and drink margaritas. I wish I had this color when I took a trip to the Dominican Republic last year. SO perfect for summer & this is going to look AMAZING with a tan!
Orange, It’s Obvious
Did you put your sunglasses on? If you are looking for a bright, in your face orange.. You MUST pick this up! I had such a hard time capturing the correct color. This color applied flawlessly in two coats. The only problem I did have, was it stained. When I removed this to apply another color, you could definitely see remnants of orange all around my nail. Again – another amazing summer color!
“I am so inspired by women who dream big, go with their instincts and always manage to put their best self forward” ~ Essie Weingarten
Essie did a wonderful job on this collection. Perfect combination of brights & pastels for every occasion!
This collection will hit stores in February & retail for $8.00 per bottle. (I have already seen it pop up at Walgreens, so definitely go check your local store)
What do you guys think? Will you be picking any of these up?
This collection was sent to me for review from Essie. All opinions are my own

Interesting how your Navigate Her looked different applied than someone else I saw swatch this (you probably know who I’m referring to). Yours looks like a pretty spring green, whereas the other swatch I saw (maybe not as much lighting?) made it look more like a dusty sage green. I was thinking I didn’t like it until I saw your swatch. But I think out of these colors, I’d get To Buy or Not to Buy, Tour de Finance, and Ole Caliente. A Crewed Interest looks so pretty, too, but I have the same problem with very light Essie colors. I get bald spots and streakiness, too. Not sure if there’s anything to do to fix that.

Beautiful but I’m so tired of getting runny Essie’s did they seem like the old formula or very thin? Love the oranges but wondering if these are close to Brazillant and Meet me at sunset?

I like the spicy scarlet fever and the headstrong outspoken orange I will try to find one of those they look pretty nice and are very bright and fun just in time for spring.
