Happy Tuesday! Many of you know I am not one for nail art or stamping of any kind. It’s just not my thing and I’m really not that talented. I’ll leave that up to my blogger friends! π But when Nail Polish Canada asked me to review their Konad basic stamping kit, I figured what the heck. I’ll give it a shot even though I have never used one before. I can honestly say the results weren’t fantastic, but they weren’t half bad either for my first try! Here’s what the kit looks like –

Included in the kit is –
1 plate with 7 or 8 flower images
Mini white polish
Stamp
Scraper
I ended up stamping the images over American Apparel Violet Panache. The kit was fairly simple to use.. It just took practice! The first couple times I wasn’t scraping hard enough or fast enough. After the 4th or 5th try, this is what I ended up with –
I’m sure they could be 10 times better, but it wasn’t too shabby for being such a newb! What are your thoughts on stamping? Do you have any tips or tricks you can share?

I purchased my “kit” and went totally overboard. Probably bought 12-16 plates and 7 bottles of the stamping polish to start. Hey, I’m a Virgo, go figure ;}!
The first time I tried the kit, the end result was not as pretty as yours Jessica. After about 3-4 attempts I was gaining confidence and had the right flow of polish on the plate to produce a great stamped nail. I think I was just trying too hard the first couple of times. Now I am double stamping, (using more than on stamp per nail), and adding stripes and stones and even tape! It is fun if the customer has the time.
One drawback that I have found is the top of the large stamp is pink. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but when I use pink or pinkish polish, which is often, I cannot really see it on the top of the stamp. I have not come up with a fix for this yet, so I am open to suggestions. Next, I bought a pack of 10 foam ‘pads’, about 4″ x 3″ at the Dollar Tree Store. I use that as my palette for the plate to rest on. It can be reused and it seems to be just the cushion it needs to get the right amount of paint in the plate. I have also heard on YouTube of people using a credit card instead of the scraper. Seems to have more flexiblity and does not scrape too much polish out of the plate. Lastly, I still have not mastered the plate with the tips template. Just can’t seem to get that one down :{
Konad plates are the highest end. I have tried Mash, but prefer Konad. Jus’ Sayin’. If you check out my FB page, please be sure to LIKE it. I try my best to keep it up to date. I am also on Pinterest.com:
